Like a Magnet to Your Business, These 5 Apps Will Attract Your Best Customers
business kajabi perfect customers product development Nov 06, 2019Sometimes it feels like time is flying a million miles an hour. Once we had Ellie, it seemed like it only quickened and days became instantly shorter. Where did August go?! Where did most of 2019 go?!
I get it, business owner.
The anxiety easily starts to build when we look at our screen time reminder only to see hours spent on social media or in our inbox. I say this because I’ve felt the same animosity creep into my chest, “Technology is such a time waster.”
And it totally can be.
I’ve been trapped in these scenarios below too many times.
I open my bloated inbox, only to spend the next hour unnecessarily deleting junk email.
I leave my ringer on while I work, only to answer a call and casually chat for 15 minutes.
I get ready to post an upcoming product offer on social media, only to scroll aimlessly for the next 37 minutes.
Such a time waster.
Ah, wait! You and I both know technology is crucial to the life of our business. I’d argue, that it’s even pivotal to your success. Which is why I decided to give you the 5 apps I use every single day in my business.
And, it’s a no brainer because you have creativity to spend!
You have people to love!
You have missions to serve!
So let’s save some time already!
Since most of us are building our businesses from our phones, I’m going to show you the apps and features that help me save hours every single day.
Favorite Feature
We’ll start out small (and free!). Although this isn’t an “app” per say, this feature packs a big punch when it comes to organizing your business photos, especially the ones in que for posting.
I can’t count the hours I’ve spent scrolling my photos album (of 20,000+ photos) only to miss the photo I need and have to start all over! When our business photos are mixed into life, family, recipes, and Pinterest finds, it makes it so hard to find what we need, when we need it.
By clicking the heart at the bottom of my phone’s photo, this organizes all my business photos immediately into an easy to grab folder. Then, once I use the image for social media or my website, I just unselect and even delete if I don’t need it again.
You can customize your albums to categories too, but it’s a few more steps. And honestly, even 2 more steps is sometimes too time consuming for my day. On contrast, by making the mental note that the Favorites feature is exclusively used for business photos, I save at least 30-60 minutes a day when it comes to finding the photo I need…quick.
HabitMinder
There are not enough compliments in the world to give HabitMinder. I only found this app 2 months ago, but it has changed the game. HabitMinder is basically an electronic checklist for everythingyou can possibly imagine. If you’re anything like me, you get to the end of the day and realize you completely forgot to ____! That’s where HabitMinder comes in.
I originally downloaded it for my business, but quickly realized I could use it in just about every area of my life. It’s amazing because it lets you schedule “habits” for tasks that you know you need to complete daily. I have my daily activity for my business, like reach outs, social media, trainings. I even have Ellie’s school night checklist, like outfit, backpack and folder, and lunch boxes. It reminds me the day of, and I just click the button to complete! So easy, and especially helpful for those of us who can’t even remember back to 8am.
HabitMinder is a free download and has dozens of built in habits you can select and use. If you want to customize more than 3 habits, you’d just need to upgrade to the pro version for $12.99.
CutStory
Everyone on here probably knows this app, but if I’m being honest, it saves me time every single day in my business. I love the Stories feature of Instagram and Facebook, but for the life of me cannot complete a series of videos from inside the social media app. Instead of clicking the 20 second video button, having internet issues, then forgetting what you’re talking about, I just use CutStory.
I video my content on my phone, then upload my video from my album to CutStory. CutStory then “cuts” your video into 15 second (for Instagram) or 20 second (for Facebook) individual videos to be used on Stories. It has even more ways to cut your video, but 15 and 20 second videos are the only features I’m using right now.
You can download the free version from the app store and use it unlimited! If you want your videos cut without their small watermark in the bottom corner, you can upgrade to pro for $3.99.
Over
There are times in life when you find something so streamline, so useful, that the temptation to keep it to yourself is real, like really real. Over is that app. When a friend introduced me to Over, I seriously did not understand how I was so late to finding out about it.
I debated including my apps that add text or edit photos, but concluded that since downloading Over I have barely used those at all.
Imagine a phone or tablet version with only the best features of Lightroom, Photoshop, Creative Market, and the world wide web…. Well, you don’t have to imagine because Over exists. This little apps has so much packed into it. The vast majority of features are free, although an upgrade is available, it has everything from templates to fonts to photo editing.
My favorite feature in Over is that it lets you work in layers. Most of the time I’ll get creative and make my own graphics, but for the times when I need something in a pinch, their templates are beautiful, clean, and trendy making it easy to find something that fits my brand.
Stride
I know. I know. No one particularly loves talking numbers, but this one is necessary. I can’t count the years I’ve sheepishly watched Kody’s face while I dump a box of receipts onto the desk 2 days before April 15th. Receipts and business expenses are an organizing nightmare as far as I’m concerned, but Stride has taken all of the hassle and messiness out of it. When you make a purchase, just snap a photo, select the category you’re purchasing for, then upload. It even gets you a weekly summary of your expenses sent straight to your email.
Most of my purchase are online, so I’ll take a screenshot of the entire receipt, then upload it. It literally gives me no excuse but to be organized for taxes. And the best part is, if you file using HR Block, the app syncs with your account to upload your expenses once you get ready to file. And it’s totally free!
And that’s my list. I know for sure these are going to help you streamline and make time for the people, ideas, and things you value you most.
I obviously have other apps I use and love for my business and productivity, but hands down, these are the 5 that help me to save the most time in the nitty gritty of every day.
If you have one you’d add to the list, let me know! I’d love to try it out.
Go make a mark,
